This old market from Roquetas de Mar (Almería)is located in the entrance of the town and nowadays it is closed. The building was built in the 1976 and it is separated in two areas: the market under a prefabricated concret curved panels’ roof and a cubic volume for the service.

 

The recovery of the building is for a new market where the important parts from the old building will be remarkable.

The project gives the importance to the roof because it is an icon in the entrance of the city. As well, to the singular glass’ elevations with circular grilles making the market’s doors. Both of them, let an open floor for the market and so that, the outside public space goes inside and vice versa.

Two spaces are remarkables on it: the restaurant in relation with the public space outside and the stands that are in the central space.
